Membership Information

  1. An applicant who has undertaken a graduate programme leading to the award of a degree in any tourism related academic discipline may be admitted as a full member of the forum. The applicant may also be required to show proof of minimum of two years experience lecturing tourism courses in an academic institution or working in a tourism industry consultancy firm.
  2. Other applicants who have undertaken a post graduate programme in a tertiary institution leading to the award of a PhD with prior work experience in the tourism industry for a period not less than three years may also be admitted as a full member.
  3. An individual with corporate work experience not less than seven years in the tourism industry may also be admitted as a full member on the condition that they have relevant academic qualification not lower than an Ordinary National Diploma or its equivalent. An applicant may also be admitted as a member if he or she has occupied a managerial position, in a tourism industry firm, for a period not less than five years.
  4. An Associate member becomes a full member if after two years of membership he/she acquires a degree relevant to the tourism industry or has attended four mandatory developmental programmes organized for Associate Members or two continuous professional development courses approved by the Forum’s membership committee.

  1. An applicant who has undertaken a graduate programme in any tourism academic discipline may be admitted as an associate member. The applicant will also show proof of a minimum of two years work experience in a tourism consultancy firm.
  2. Other applicants who have undertaken a graduate programme in a tertiary institution with prior work experience in the tourism industry for a period not less than four years may also be admitted as an associate member.
  3. An individual with corporate work experience not less than five years experience may also be admitted as a member on the condition that they have relevant academic qualification not lower than an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or its equivalent. An applicant may also be admitted as a member if he or she has occupied a managerial position for a period not less than three years.

  1. Sponsoring corporations, enterprises, and organizations may be granted membership status. This status provides them the opportunity to send their employees who are not members of TFC to attend trainings organized by TCF and advertise on TCF website at discounted rates.

  1. Honorary membership is reserved for individuals who have made significant contribution to the tourism industry. By their work experience they can provide mentoring services to employees and managers of tourism and hospitality firms. Membership shall be conferred on such individuals as a formal recognition of their contribution to the development and growth of the industry.

  1. Any student undertaking an academic programme in tourism, hospitality or leisure in any tertiary institution or currently on a professional certification programme relevant to the tourism industry will be admitted as a student member of the Forum.
  2. Any other student in a tertiary institution with a prior work experience in the tourism industry for a period not less than two years may also be admitted as a student member.
